About the role

Senior Staff Software Engineer on the Close team responsible for architecting FloQast Close, leading distributed systems and AI-driven workflow infrastructure, and guiding the technical North Star for the platform.

Responsibilities

  • This role is either On-Site 3 days in San Jose, CA or Sherman Oaks, CA or open to remote candidates in PST
  • Architecting the Future: design and deliver core platform capabilities powering FloQast Transform and next-gen AI-driven workflows; own big-picture design of distributed systems, AI Agent infrastructure, and visual workflow builders
  • Technical Strategy & Excellence: lead high-level design discussions, establish engineering best practices across the automation ecosystem
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: collaborate with Product and Design to translate business goals into executable technical roadmaps for intuitive accounting automation
  • Multiplier of Talent: mentor senior engineers and foster deep technical curiosity and high-performance execution

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience shipping complex, enterprise-grade software
  • Expert in Go, Node.js, MongoDB, and AWS
  • Experience with APIs, platform-first design, scalable workflow orchestration, and secure, compliant SaaS architectures
  • Strong product intuition and outcome-driven mindset
  • Ability to turn napkin sketches into production-ready systems through influence and technical clarity
