About the role

Head of Finance responsible for owning the quote-to-cash cycle, finance operations, and accounting with authority to insource, outsource, and automate. Leads financial processes, automation, controls, compliance, reporting, FP&A, and potential fundraising support for a high-growth, AI-native SaaS startup.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the full quote-to-cash cycle including: Quote & contract structure; Managing invoicing system & generating invoices; Collections & cash application; Revenue recognition & the close; Collaborate with engineers/data scientists to implement new invoicing models for usage-based pricing agreements
  • Drive automation of repetitive tasks using AI finance solutions and leverage technical staff to run a highly automated, lean finance function; Support new system implementations and accounting tool integrations
  • Manage finance operations, internal controls & compliance including: Cash management across entities and currencies; Intercompany management: recharges, balances, funding flows and transfer pricing documentation with advisors; Tax and statutory compliance; Ensure GAAP / IFRS compliance and regulatory requirements; Lead external audits
  • Provide guidance on accounting treatment and draft/maintain accounting policies and memos for key transactions
  • Oversee accounting and reporting (management accounts and/or external providers): Financial statement prep under US GAAP/IFRS (UK entity); Month/quarter/year-end close; Ongoing accounting activities including AP, AR, payroll accounting, and cash management
  • Keep Junior financing-ready and support fundraising: Opportunity to lead fundraising rounds; Own customer-facing financial diligence; Own banking and credit facility relationships
  • FP&A and business operations: Collaborate with FP&A and cross-functional teams for analysis and insights; Support budget vs actual variance analysis

Qualifications

  • Holds accounting certification (e.g. ACA/ACCA/CIMA or CPA)
  • 8+ years of finance experience including high-growth SaaS startups; 2+ years of finance leadership experience
  • 5+ years of experience at high-growth SaaS startups
  • 2+ years of experience managing complex quote-to-cash structures
  • Bonus: 2+ years as sole finance hire/head of finance; career start at a top public accounting firm
  • Versed in complex quote-to-cash structures with bespoke usage-based pricing
  • Owner mindset to design/implement accounting processes from ground up
  • Proficient in US GAAP; familiarity with IFRS and/or UK GAAP
  • Flexible in approach to tailor accounting systems to the business
  • AI-native: daily user of LLMs (e.g., Claude) and AI finance tools
