About the role

Data Foundations team builds the platform that enables data-driven decisions for member care, contracts and claims. Focus on building, maintaining, and improving the data platform, enabling secure access, governance, and supporting AI/agents within a rapidly expanding international environment.

Responsibilities

  • build, maintain, and improve the Data Platform used by everyone at Alan
  • enable Alan’s data-driven nature and help colleagues make the most of their data
  • partner with technical and non-technical teammates to understand needs and build trusted data solutions
  • own and manage all data-related tools that power Alan
  • build foundations for AI-enabled data usage with emphasis on security, data quality, and governance
  • support expansion and onboarding of new countries by maintaining robust data infrastructure
  • improve developer experience when building and maintaining data pipelines
  • enable reliable and secure access to the data warehouse for users and AI agents
  • strengthen security and governance around data assets
  • define and implement standard data practices across Alan
  • evolve core data infrastructure to support international expansion and broader product scope

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Data roles
  • Experience building and operating production data infrastructure (orchestration with Airflow or similar, cloud data warehouse, infrastructure as code)
  • Experience designing systems, tools or libraries used by others
  • Proficient in Python and SQL
  • Curious about AI and eager to use it to increase impact
  • Great listening and communication skills
  • Humility, collaboration, and willingness to grow
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
