About the role

Senior-level backend/platform engineer focused on privacy engineering within Data Foundations, responsible for owning and evolving the GDPR Orchestrator, building a self-serve data rules platform, and coordinating across Legal, Security, data producers, and product crews to scale data lifecycle and privacy capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • : Own and evolve the privacy platform (build & run): its core engine, safety mechanisms (preview/dry-run, audit trail), and operational health (deploys, on-call, observability).
  • Build the paved road (enable, teach to fish): docs, templates, and self-serve tooling so 15+ areas can plug into the platform and manage data rules and dependencies; coach areas through pairing and syncs; build capability rather than doing the work for them.
  • Coordinate across areas (the cross-area bridge): align legal, security, data, and data-producing areas on requirements, surface cross-area data dependencies, and resolve design trade-offs; own coordination while each area remains accountable for its data and rules.
  • Push the foundations forward: drive open platform design decisions and expand platform capabilities as data, products, and footprint grow.

Qualifications

  • : Senior-level experience (typically 8+ years) in backend or platform software engineering with deep production ownership (API and contract design, data modeling, running what you ship).
  • : Built and operated platforms, libraries, or services that others depend on, with a focus on the contract exposed to consumers.
  • : Comfortable operating across many teams and influencing without authority; coordinating with legal, security, data, and product crews.
  • : Pragmatic approach: shipping sound, safe solutions and iterating over time.
  • Strong plus: prior privacy, GDPR, or data-governance exposure; experience in enabling/platform-team operating model.
  • Explicitly not required: deep legal expertise.
