About the role

Software Engineering Manager responsible for leading SentinelOne's SaaS Test Platform Service team, defining quality strategy, scaling a test automation-focused group, and enabling broader engineering teams with testing standards and platforms across the full testing pyramid on the Singularity platform.

Responsibilities

  • Establish operational objectives, work plans, and quality strategy for ensuring quality across the software development lifecycle.
  • Manage and grow a team of test automation and software engineers, delegating assignments and conducting performance and career development discussions.
  • Champion adoption of automated test frameworks, Docker-based test environments, and cloud validation across AWS and GCP, incorporating AI-powered validation tools.
  • Own the team’s charter as an internal enablement function by building standards, tools, and frameworks for testing across unit, component, integration, end-to-end, and persona-based testing.
  • Partner with directors, managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to align requirements, schedules, and priorities.
  • Drive platform adoption through documentation, onboarding, office hours, rapid feedback, and evangelism to make testing the easiest path for teams.
  • Hold the team accountable for project and quality results, resolving prioritization conflicts with criteria around effort and impact.
  • Define and track platform health and adoption metrics including coverage, test flakiness, and time-to-onboard; report progress to engineering leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement of testing processes and share best practices with peers and the wider organization.
  • Coach and mentor engineers, support AI development transformations, and address competency gaps.
  • Foster diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety within the team.

Qualifications

  • Experience as an individual contributor in software quality assurance, validation engineering, or test automation, with leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience managing or leading a team of 5+ engineers or demonstrated readiness for people management including hiring and performance discussions.
  • Solid domain expertise in test frameworks, automation and quality engineering; ability to engage in architecture-level discussions with senior contributors.
  • Strong understanding of Python (Pytest), TypeScript (Playwright), Docker, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
  • Experience designing or scaling an internal developer platform / paved road testing model adopted by other teams.
  • Knowledge of full test pyramid (unit, component, integration, E2E, persona-based) and selecting appropriate testing layers.
  • Experience setting quality engineering strategy, budgets, and work plans; implementing cross-team policies.
  • Strong business acumen to translate strategy into team goals.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Track record of coaching and developing engineers, with commitment to diversity and high-performing teams.
