About the role

Software Engineering Manager responsible for leading SentinelOne's SaaS Test Platform Service team on the Singularity platform, defining quality strategy, growing a test automation and software engineering team, and driving adoption of automated testing and internal developer platform tools across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Establish operational objectives, work plans, and quality strategy for ensuring quality across the software development lifecycle and implement relevant policies.
  • Manage and grow a team of test automation and software engineers, delegate assignments, set performance expectations, and conduct career development discussions.
  • Champion adoption of automated test frameworks, Docker-based test environments, and cloud validation across AWS and GCP, integrating AI-powered tools into the validation lifecycle.
  • Own the team’s charter as an internal enablement function by building and evolving standards, tools, and frameworks used by other engineering teams for testing across unit, component, integration, end-to-end, and persona-based testing.
  • Partner with directors, managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to align requirements, schedules, and work plans, advocating for the team’s priorities.
  • Drive platform adoption through documentation, onboarding, office hours, rapid feedback, and internal evangelism to make testing the easiest path for teams.
  • Hold the team accountable for project and quality results, resolve trade-offs with consistent criteria, and manage priorities with incomplete information.
  • Define and track platform health and adoption metrics, test flakiness, pipeline reliability, onboarding time, and report progress to engineering leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement of testing processes, coverage, and methodologies; share insights with peer managers and the wider organization.
  • Coach and mentor engineers, support AI development transformations, and address competency gaps while fostering diversity and psychological safety.

Qualifications

  • Years of experience as an individual contributor in software quality assurance, validation engineering, or test automation, with some leadership experience.
  • Experience managing or leading a team of 5+ engineers or strong readiness to step into people management with hiring and performance discussions.
  • Solid domain expertise in test frameworks, automation, and quality engineering; ability to engage in technical and architecture discussions with senior contributors.
  • Strong understanding of Python (Pytest) and TypeScript (Playwright), Docker, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
  • Experience designing or scaling an internal developer platform / paved road testing model adopted by other teams.
  • Understanding of full test pyramid (unit, component, integration, E2E, persona-based) and ability to judge appropriate testing levels.
  • Experience setting quality engineering strategy, budgets, and work plans; translating strategy into actionable goals.
