About the role

Software Engineering Manager overseeing SentinelOne's SaaS Test Platform Service team on the Singularity platform. Owns test strategy, builds and grows a team of automation and software engineers, and partners with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality testing and broad adoption of testing platforms and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Establish operational objectives, work plans, and quality strategy for ensuring quality in code across the software development lifecycle.
  • Manage and grow a team of test automation and software engineers, delegating assignments and conducting performance and career development discussions.
  • Champion adoption of automated test frameworks, Docker-based test environments, and cloud validation across AWS and GCP; integrate AI-powered tools into validation lifecycle.
  • Own the team’s charter as an internal enablement function; build and evolve standards, tools, and frameworks for testing across the full pyramid (unit, component, integration, end-to-end, persona-based).
  • Partner with directors, managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to align on requirements, schedules, and work plans; advocate for team priorities.
  • Drive platform adoption through documentation, onboarding, office hours, rapid feedback cycles, and internal evangelism.
  • Hold the team accountable for project and quality outcomes; resolve prioritization conflicts with criteria around effort and impact.
  • Define and track platform health and adoption metrics (coverage, test flakiness, pipeline reliability, time-to-onboard); report progress to engineering leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement of testing processes and share best practices with peers.
  • Coach and mentor engineers; invest in growth and AI development; foster diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety.

Qualifications

  • Years of experience as an individual contributor in software quality assurance, validation engineering, or test automation, with some leadership experience.
  • Experience managing or leading a team of 5+ engineers or clear readiness to move into people management (hiring and performance discussions).
  • Solid domain expertise in test frameworks, automation, and quality engineering; able to engage in architecture-level conversations with senior contributors (Staff level and above).
  • Strong understanding of test frameworks and tooling (Python/Pytest, TypeScript/Playwright); Docker; AWS and GCP.
  • Experience designing or scaling an internal developer platform / paved road testing model adopted by other teams by choice.
  • Solid grasp of the full test pyramid (unit, component, integration, E2E, persona-based) and judgment on appropriate testing layers.
  • Experience setting quality engineering strategy, budgets, and work plans; implementing cross-team policies.
  • Strong business acumen to translate strategy into measurable goals for the team.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; experience working with peer managers, directors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Track record of coaching and developing engineers; commitment to diversity, inclusion, and high-performing teams.
