About the role

Software Engineering Manager leading SentinelOne's SaaS Test Platform Service team, setting objectives, empowering a team of automation and software engineers, and driving test frameworks, tooling, and platform adoption to ensure high-quality SentinelOne SaaS services on the Singularity platform.

Responsibilities

  • Establish operational objectives, work plans, and quality strategy for ensuring quality in code through all phases of the software development lifecycle, and implement policies affecting the development team's operations.
  • Manage and grow a team of test automation and software engineers, delegating assignments, setting performance expectations, and conducting regular performance and career development discussions.
  • Champion adoption of automated test frameworks, Docker-based test environments, and cloud validation across AWS and GCP, while integrating AI-powered tools into the validation lifecycle.
  • Own the team's charter as an internal enablement function: build and evolve standards, tools, and frameworks used by other engineering teams for testing across the full pyramid (unit, component, integration, end-to-end, and persona-based).
  • Partner with directors, managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to align on requirements, schedules, and work plans, and advocate for the team's priorities.
  • Drive adoption of the platform across the organization via documentation, onboarding, office hours, rapid feedback, and internal evangelism.
  • Hold the team accountable for project and quality results, resolving prioritization conflicts and making trade-off calls when information is incomplete.
  • Define and track platform health and adoption metrics, test flakiness, pipeline reliability, onboarding time, and report progress to engineering leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement of testing processes, coverage, and methodologies, sharing insights with peers and the wider organization.
  • Coach and mentor engineers, invest in growth and AI development transformations, and address competency gaps.
  • Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety within the team.

Qualifications

  • Years of experience as an individual contributor in software quality assurance, validation engineering, or test automation, including some experience managing or leading a team.
  • Experience managing or leading a team of 5+ engineers, or readiness to step into people management including hiring and performance discussions.
  • Solid domain expertise in test frameworks, automation and quality engineering, with ability to engage in technical/architectural discussions with senior contributors.
  • Strong understanding of test frameworks/tools such as Python (Pytest) and TypeScript (Playwright), Docker, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
  • Experience designing/scaling an internal developer platform / paved road testing model adopted by other teams.
  • Knowledge of full test pyramid (unit, component, integration, E2E, persona-based) and how to apply it.
  • Experience setting quality engineering strategy, budgets, and work plans and implementing cross-team policies.
  • Strong business acumen to translate strategy into team goals.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with peer managers, directors, and stakeholders.
  • Track record of coaching and developing engineers with commitment to diversity and high performance.
