About the role

Senior engineering leadership role focused on building and scaling Alan's insurance stack, with hands-on coding and direct impact on pricing, contract lifecycle, and sales tooling across multiple countries.

Responsibilities

  • Offer creation: Enabling Sales to build compliant and relevant offers themselves in minutes, with a real-time pricer and AI assistance
  • Contract Lifecycle: Signing contracts and providing tools to pilot a portfolio of 100K+ contracts
  • Enabling growth: Owning the root of Alan’s Insurance stack and removing blockers to open new segments or markets
  • One insurance stack for every country: Contribute to core stack decisions and global rollout across countries
  • AI-native underwriting: Implement AI-assisted smart alternatives, price explanations, and other AI-enabled capabilities
  • Life & Disability as a first-class product: Elevate Life & Disability product to same maturity as Health
  • Technical direction and operational excellence: Architecture, quality standards, incident response, and hands-on engineering leadership

Qualifications

  • 3+ years leading engineering teams, with a track record of building high performers
  • Partner with product functions as an equal to shape roadmaps and trade-offs
  • Experience establishing engineering excellence standards and guiding architectural decisions
  • First-hand experience shipping AI or LLM products to production is a plus
  • Enjoys writing code, reviewing it, and shipping hands-on
  • Comfortable with modern development practices and AI-assisted development tools
