About the role

Senior Actuary role within Alan's Insurance Team in Belgium, focused on designing and pricing insurance offers, monitoring risks, and collaborating cross-functionally to build scalable prevention-focused insurance products across multiple countries.

Responsibilities

  • Design and price insurance offers
  • Monitor the business and the risks
  • Help the rest of the team understand the subtleties of healthcare and insurance
  • Build winning products and pricing strategies to unlock new segments (recent missions)
  • Bring insurance expertise to help sign the largest customers in Belgium
  • Enter new segments like public sector to unlock new growth in Belgium
  • Enhance portfolio monitoring as it grows in scale and complexity
  • Strengthen relationship with regulatory bodies and improve compliance
  • Work with engineers to build tools to create tailored insurance offers at scale
  • Be part of a global insurance community impacting multiple countries

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the insurance sector with exposure to health insurance products (hospitalisation, group insurance, disability or dental)
  • Fluent in English and Dutch (French a plus)
  • Scientific background (actuarial sciences, statistics, mathematics or data science) with practical insurance experience (product, pricing, regulatory or analytics)
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with ability to translate complex data, business and legal questions into outputs
  • Builder mindset with ability to identify opportunities to improve and scale processes and systems
  • Willingness to deeply change the insurance and healthcare industry and challenge the status quo
  • Clear, structured and concise communication (written and spoken)
  • C1-E level language proficiency anticipated for this role
