About the role

Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) at Firecrawl. Customer-facing engineer responsible for making Firecrawl work in real customer environments, owning the outcome from deployment to adoption and expansion. On-site, five days a week in San Francisco, US-based.

Responsibilities

  • Land inside a customer's environment, understand what they're building, and make Firecrawl work for their actual use case
  • Get hands-on with the product against real customer data, build integrations and POCs that turn uncertain use cases into production
  • Run technical discovery to diagnose where a customer's extraction or pipeline breaks and determine whether it is usage, a bug, or a product gap
  • Partner with the Deployment team to turn technical wins into adoption and expansion, and hit team targets
  • Be the trusted technical voice for accounts, and feed field learnings back to product and engineering
  • Know when to solve it yourself and when to pull in engineering

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a customer-facing technical role or equivalent
  • Experience in forward-deployed, solutions, or customer-facing engineering (developer, API, or AI-infra focus)
  • Ability to read code, use an API, and build a real POC or integration
  • Experience owning the full lifecycle for a customer from demo to production and delivering technical work that lands
  • Ability to distinguish user error, bugs, and real product gaps; avoid turning every ask into a custom feature
  • Ability to translate technical detail to business value for diverse audiences
  • Bias for shipping working PO C against real data and iterating quickly
