About the role

Senior Software Engineer in Test responsible for quality, reliability, and performance of SentinelOne's backend test frameworks and tools, leading test strategy, building tooling, and collaborating with backend and QA teams to deliver high-quality SaaS services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and improvements of standards, test frameworks, and tools used in validation of backend SaaS services.
  • Collaborate with development, quality and other stakeholders to translate requirements into tooling.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks in Python (Pytest) and TypeScript (Playwright).
  • Integrate AI powered tools and workflows into the software development lifecycle to automate quality processes.
  • Utilize Docker for containerization and manage test platform services in cloud environments.
  • Enhance test strategies to improve coverage, efficiency, and effectiveness of backend test harnesses and infrastructure.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to testing standards and methodologies.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices in AI, tooling and QA.
  • Work hands-on with development and validation teams to promote tooling adoption.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in tooling development, software quality assurance, or validation engineering with a SaaS focus
  • Proven experience leading test frameworks and defining comprehensive test strategies
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks in Python (Pytest) and TypeScript (Playwright)
  • Experience integrating AI tools, LLMs, or AI-driven testing into QA workflows and CI/CD
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with globally distributed teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong background in software automation development and a bias for big-picture impact
